Gomer

The Greek house "Homer" is located a few steps from the main promenade of Balaklava. By the will of fate, the cozy bay of the town often became the center of historical events - starting with the mention in the poem "Odyssey" of the well-known ancient Greek poet-storyteller (after whom our hotel is named), the construction of the Genoese fortress of Cembalo in the XIII century and ending with the visit of Catherine II in 1787 and the creation here during the Cold War of a secret strategic military the object of the USSR. Alexander Kuprin had a special love for Balaclava - today on that very embankment you can find a monument dedicated to him.
