Consider Chaika, on the banks of the Volga in the city centre. For sightseeing, follow the “Kimry — a Town of Provincial Art Nouveau” walking route, or explore local history at the museum at 13/8 Kirova Street.
If a central location is your priority, choose Chaika: it has a restaurant and serves a continental breakfast daily. For arrival by train and self-catering, Kayut-Kompaniya is a convenient option 600 metres from Savyolovo station, with studio kitchens equipped with a microwave and fridge.
No: Kolkunovo, Basovskoye, TIRS and Novo-Okatovo are outside the city and better suited to a break by the Volga. If you opt for the countryside, Kolkunovo offers cottages with kitchens, while Basovskoye has cottages for groups of up to 14.
