If you plan to explore historic Lakhdenpokhya, factor in the journey to town: Hygge Camp Karelia, for example, is about 30 minutes away by car. For a lakeside break, consider Mikli-Olgino on Lake Kiukkosenlampi or Brusnika Village on Lake Pitkälammi, which has a private beach.
If a full kitchen matters, consider the cottages at Hygge Camp Karelia, which also have a separate bedroom and a private bathroom. Its tents are available in summer and sit in woodland 50 metres from the lake, with a private bathroom and kitchenette; at Parkonmaki Village, the kitchen is shared, and showers and toilets are in a separate insulated building.
For a car-free trip, plan the journey from the station to your accommodation in advance: Huuhkanmäki, the nearest station to Mikli-Olgino, is 23 km away. The property has a café, boat and bicycle rentals, a playground and an indoor children’s playroom, so you needn’t travel elsewhere for meals and activities.
