Entry of citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens, as well as vehicles into the border control zone, is carried out according to identity documents, individual or collective passes for entry of persons and vehicles into the border zone. The deadline for consideration of applications, including a special permit from the FSB of the Russian Federation or the territorial security authority for the entry of foreign citizens into the border zone, is 57 days.

According to the rules for the provision of hotel services in the Russian Federation, foreign citizens must have an identity card with them to check into hotels on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The territory of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is included in the List of Territories of the Russian Federation with regulated visits for all foreign citizens.
