Onyx

Onyx Hotel is located in the historical center of Torzhok. There was an ancient settlement on the site of the hotel, protected by water boundaries: the Tvertsa River and the Zdorovets Stream. The hotel building is an architectural monument of the late XVIII — early XIX century, the house of famous Novotorzh merchants. Opposite the hotel is the Transfiguration Cathedral. It was founded in the XII century, before the appearance of the New Torg as a city. Settlements on this site existed as early as the IX century. Artifacts of those times were found on Mednikov Street, where our hotel stands. In 2022, the Onyx Hotel was completely renovated. In the lobby of the hotel we arranged a mini-exhibition about the treasure, the Kremlin that was in this place, and the medieval New Auction. A treasure from the time of Batu was found on the site of the restaurant: jewelry and an ancient sample of Novotorzh gold embroidery. On the territory of the hotel there is a restaurant of local cuisine with pozharsky cutlets: chicken, fish, veal and branded according to the recipe of the restaurant. These cutlets were fried in the Pozharsky Hotel in Torzhok back in the time of Pushkin. Now they are the main gastronomic business card of the city. Within walking distance from the Onyx hotel are the main sights of the city: the Transfiguration Cathedral - 20 m, the Novotorzhsky Kremlin — 100 m, the city embankment — 150 m, the main observation deck of Torzhok — 300 m. The train station is 1.5 km from the hotel. Onyx Hotel staff will help arrange a transfer to the airport and the train station of Torzhok and Tver.
