Affordable cottage rentals in Zvenigorod

A stay near Zvenigorod isn't about hotels with reception desks — it's about the feel of a private dacha in a pine forest. On the grounds of the former Soviet-era Svyazist holiday resort on Ratekhinskoye Highway, an entire campus has grown up: a dozen and a half chalets, themed log cabins, glamping tents and a hostel for business travelers. All the properties sit side by side, but each is rented separately — there's no shared front desk here.

Prices vary widely: from a bed in a shared room to a private villa.

The most budget-friendly option is the Workers' Hostel, from 1,200 ₽ per bed. It's fine for a short overnight stay.

Chekhovskaya Dacha starts at 17,900 ₽. It's a standalone log cabin for several people with a banya and its own yard.

Arkhangelskaya Dacha from 43,700 ₽ and the Lesnaya Sloboda cottages (formerly Tayozhnaya Sloboda) sit at the premium end — the pick for a group or a family that wants the whole property to themselves.

Zvenigorod is a small town, so most hotels ended up in the surrounding forests and villages. That said, if you're planning to visit the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and the Assumption Cathedral and walk through the historic center, we recommend staying in the town itself, around Moskovskaya Street. From there you can walk to the main sights.

The Lyubov Orlova Boutique Hotel sits at 18A Moskovskaya. This four-star hotel is right in the center. Rates start at 7,300 ₽ per night. From the hotel you can walk to the monastery through Gorodok (about 3–4 km, 40–50 minutes on foot) or take a taxi — the drive takes just 5 minutes.

Velich Country Club in Suponevo is the only five-star complex in the area. It's a proper country club with cottages, a spa, an equestrian club and a restaurant. Rates start at 14,800 ₽ per night.

A slightly more affordable option in the style of a Russian country estate is the Usadba Busharino Park Hotel. The grounds include a pond, banyas and a restaurant. The hotel sits in a secluded spot, well off the busier tourist paths. Prices start at 12,000 ₽ per night.

Both work well for a family weekend or a short 2–3 night getaway, but they're hard to justify for a quick trip to the monastery.

At the entrance to Zvenigorod, in the new Pronina and Suponevo residential districts, there are serviced apartments. They're often rented for several days by business travelers and families. For these guests, having a kitchen, a washing machine and a parking spot matters more than a reception desk or breakfast.

You can start your search with the cheaper options. For example, the apartments at 1 Nakhabinskoye Highway, building 2 (https://moyabron.ru/oteli-v-zvenigorode/apartamenty-na-shosse-nakhabinskoe-1-korpus-2-sh-nakhabinskoe-1k2-503219) go for as little as 3,625 ₽ for the whole apartment. For four people, that's cheaper than any hostel at Svyazist.
