The closest option to the monastery sits in Kotelniki, right by the MKAD: from here it takes about as long to reach the Transfiguration Cathedral with its hermitages as it does the Moscow metro with its restaurants. It works for weekend pilgrims and equally for anyone on a business trip to the industrial sites of southeastern Moscow Oblast. The city has no railway station of its own, so a car or a bus via Lyubertsy is the main way to get around.
