What to consider when choosing
Consider the centre: SAYEN has a spa, while Angara has a wellness centre with a sauna. For walks, try the Lower Embankment and Karl Marx Street; many central streets also retain historic wooden houses.
In the city, it is easy to alternate sightseeing with treatments: HISTORY, for example, offers massages and spa rituals for two. Outside the city, you can try a different bathing experience at Baikalskie Sezony (Angarsky Istok), which has a floating banya with an open-air plunge pool.
Before booking, ask about age restrictions for pools and steam rooms, family access hours and whether access is included in the room rate. Check the pool type too: Soyuz has an indoor pool, while Alpari has a cool pool, so ask specifically about the water temperature.
