Hotels in downtown Ivanovo

The historic core of Ivanovo fits into a walkable triangle: Revolution Square, the Uvod River embankment, and Sheremetevsky Avenue. From there it's a 10–15 minute walk to the railway station, a constructivist landmark in its own right. Nearby you'll also find the Horseshoe House on Gromoboya Street, the Ship House on Lenina Avenue, and the Ivanovo Chintz Museum on Baturina Street. This is the part of the city travelers come for.

The city's only 5-star and the largest 4-star

• Alkhimist — the only 5-star hotel in the city. It sits at 21 10 Avgusta Street. Rooms start at 16,000 ₽ per night.
• Sheremetev Park Hotel — the largest 4-star hotel, right on the Uvod embankment at 1 Naumova Street. It has its own restaurant, with rooms from 8,600 ₽.

Mid-range and budget in the center

• Soyuz — a 3-star hotel at 47b Sheremetevsky Avenue, 600 meters from Revolution Square. Rates from 5,100 ₽ per night.
• Voznesenskaya — a 2-star hotel at 64 Lenina Avenue, roughly 500 meters from the Ship House (a 5–7 minute walk along the avenue). Rooms from 3,310 ₽ per night.

In the northwest and south of Ivanovo, in the Novaya Ilinka and Moskovsky districts, you'll find a cluster of similar studios with kitchens. They work well for a family, a longer work trip, or any stay where you want to cook for yourself and settle in for a week. The center is 15–20 minutes away by bus or car. These neighborhoods are quieter and free of tourist crowds.

Ivanovo is an ideal base if you want to see Plyos, Palekh, and Shuya without changing hotels every night. The distances are short:

• Plyos: 65 km (about 1.5 hours by bus).
• Palekh: 65 km (about 1.5 hours).
• Shuya: 30 km (about 30 minutes).

Why is it convenient? Tiny, touristy Plyos winds down after September, and Palekh has a modest choice of lodging. It's easier to head back to your Ivanovo room for dinner and set off again in the morning by bus or car.

If Ivanovo is a transit stop on the Kostroma–Vladimir–Suzdal route, the task is simply to spend a cheap night and leave early. The most affordable option is Sozvezdie+ on Stankostroiteley Street, with beds from 700 ₽ per night. The hotel is on the outskirts, but that means an easy morning departure toward Vladimir along a straight road that skips the center.
