The mansion, which today houses the Yusupov Boutique Hotel, was built in the late 1840s by order of Prince Boris Nikolaevich Yusupov. According to contemporaries, Boris Nikolaevich was a very businesslike man: he did not really like secular entertainment, preferring to spend time in his office. And for good reason: the prince increased the wealth of the family, effectively managing numerous lands and estates. When we found out that the house really belonged to the famous princely dynasty, the name and idea appeared easily — the surname "Yusupov" is associated with nobility, aristocratic chic, special hospitality, the history of Russia and its amazing twists. We wanted to carefully rethink the history of this place, but not turn the hotel into a museum or create "palatial" interiors. The designers had a difficult task: to emphasize the architectural features of the house and add historical references, but at the same time create a new, welcoming space where guests would feel comfortable. The old building has not lost its former appearance, but now it can offer guests modern amenities: first-class noise insulation, parking, fast Wi-Fi. Each room is one page from the Yusupovs' history: the rooms are named after the most prominent representatives of the dynasty or related subjects that are reflected in the decor and works of art.
