The swimming season opens closer to mid-June; July and August are the hottest and busiest months, and rooms for them are taken as early as spring. September and early October bring the velvet season: the sea is still warm, the beach is emptier and accommodation is noticeably cheaper. Winter in the village is overcast and chilly, but prices fall several times over.

A family with small children will find the center and the promenade easiest: the beach is close by, the water park on Novorossiyskoye Highway is a few minutes' drive away, and there are cafes and shops all around. If your child is older and quiet matters more, look at the Priboy neighborhood and the forest district — nights there are cooler and there are fewer tourists, but you'll need transport to reach the attractions.

A car is essential if you're staying in the forestry district or Orekhovaya Roshcha — the beach is a long uphill walk from there. But try not to plan your arrival for a weekend: in summer the M-4 "Don" highway jams up regularly on the approach to Dzhubga, and the drive stretches out by hours. In the center it's the opposite — everything is within walking distance, and a car creates a parking problem more often than it solves one.

The spread is wide: at the lower end, rooms in guest houses with no breakfast and no reception desk; in the middle, small hotels and apartments with a pool; at the top, villas and whole houses in the forestry district. The main local landmark is the Dzhubga dolmen, a megalith from the third millennium BC that stands right on the grounds of a park hotel. In summer the water park on Novorossiyskoye Highway is open. For a day trip, Tuapse is an easy run — a stroll along Primorsky Boulevard and Platanovaya Alley — as are Nebug for its forest beach, Olginka, and the Guam Gorge.

Look at the neighboring villages along the A-147 highway: Lermontovo, a few kilometers to the southeast, has a wide beach and large holiday complexes, while Novomikhaylovsky a little farther on is quieter and cheaper, though the walk to the sea is longer. In high season buses and minibuses run regularly between the villages and Tuapse, so you won't be cut off from Dzhubga without a car of your own.
