A weekend in Kazan almost always comes down to one choice: stay within walking distance of the Kremlin and Bauman Street, or cross the bridge into the Novo-Savinovsky district to take in views of the Kazanka River and drop by the Ak Bars Arena.

At Moya Bron you'll find 501 hotels and inns in Kazan. Rates start from 1,500 ₽ per night. Pick a place that fits the format of your trip and book without intermediaries.

Which district of Kazan should you stay in to walk to the Kremlin and Bauman Street?

The city's main pedestrian axis is Bauman Street. It runs 1.9 km from the Kremlin to Tukay Square. Right next door are the Kul-Sharif Mosque, the Spasskaya Tower, and the Kremlin Embankment.

If you book a hotel in the Vakhitovsky (central) district, you can reach most sights on foot in 5–15 minutes — no car or metro needed. The trade-off is higher rates on peak dates and putting up with the tourist bustle right outside your door.

If staying close to the Kremlin is your top priority, consider the following:

From these hotels you can walk to the Spasskaya Tower in 5–10 minutes. Rates start from 7,900 ₽ per night at Giuseppe and from 12,285 ₽ at CORT INN.

A bit further from the Kremlin walls, but next to KFU and the Kremlin Embankment, sits the Shalyapin Palace Hotel (7 Universitetskaya Street). Rates start from 11,800 ₽.

All three are 4-star and offer the standard set of services: a restaurant, parking, and the option of early check-in.

What to choose in Novo-Savinovsky for views of the Ak Bars Arena and the Kazanka

The Novo-Savinovsky district sits on the opposite bank of the Kazanka. There are no historic buildings here, but the modern skyline rises tall. The area has a long embankment, Victory Park, and a water park.

If you're heading to a match at the Ak Bars Arena, a concert, or travelling with kids, this is a more practical base than the center. You can reach the Kremlin in 15 minutes by car or in one metro stop (Kozya Sloboda ↔ Kremlyovskaya). In the evening, though, if you have to head back across the bridge — especially in bad weather — the trip can take half an hour longer.

The clearest "view hotel" is Millennium Panorama at 1I Amirkhan Street. Rates start from 13,200 ₽. The windows look out over the Kazanka and the Chasha.

Next door is Riviera at 1a Amirkhan Street. Rates from 17,612 ₽. The hotel has its own water park and "room + slides" packages.

If you're after a hotel with a pool and spa rather than arena views, browse our with pool collection. You'll find options on both banks.

Budget four-stars in the center and Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda

New 4-star boutique hotels have opened in Kazan. Their rates start from 5,000 ₽ — comparable to a solid three-star, which is a rare find in major cities.

A standout example is the Volga House Boutique Hotel at 3D Gorky Street. It's a 4-star hotel a 10-minute walk from Bauman Street.

If you want something cheaper and right on the pedestrian street itself, take a look at iQHOTEL at 60 Bauman Street. It's a 2-star with rates starting from 4,000 ₽. There's no restaurant, but the rooms have balconies looking out over the main street.

Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda by Lake Kaban is a strong alternative to Bauman Street for anyone who wants to get a feel for Tatar culture. The quarter has preserved its wooden architecture and is home to the Tugan Avylym restaurant complex and the Kamal Theatre.

An atmospheric option is Kunak at 26 Kayum Nasyri Street. It's a 3-star with rates from 5,693 ₽. From here it's a convenient 20-minute walk to the Kremlin along the lake. Bauman Street is just 15 minutes away on foot.

For central options under 5,000 ₽ a night, browse our in the center cheap collection.

A small cozy hotel in the center of Kazan, set back from the noisy streets. There’s an Orthodox church nearby — the services are quiet and don’t disturb the hotel guests at all. Right behind the church there’s a pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel’s location is very convenient. Metro, buses and trolleybuses are easily accessible. Taxis can pull up right to the hotel entrance. The staff is very friendly. The rooms were cleaned regularly. The breakfasts are modest but very tasty. I placed my order from the menu the evening before, and in the morning everything was served hot at the agreed time. It was quite enough to keep me going until the afternoon. The room was cozy and had a double bed. I stayed for 5 nights and was satisfied.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your goal is the best rate and fewer tourist crowds, the ideal time to visit Kazan is the shoulder season — specifically April and October. The weather suits walking, too, with temperatures around +5 to +12 °C.

Peak demand for hotels falls on a handful of periods:

  • Sabantuy (late June);
  • Republic Day (30 August);
  • the New Year holidays;
  • major matches at the Ak Bars Arena.

On those dates rates climb 30–60% and rooms are snapped up 2–3 weeks before the event.

If your dates are flexible, compare weekday and weekend rates: in the center the gap is usually 1,500–3,000 ₽ per night.

For families who love water and outdoor walks, Novo-Savinovsky is the better pick. It's closer to the Riviera water park and Victory Park.

If staying near the sights — the Kremlin, the Kul-Sharif Mosque, the Ekiyat puppet theatre, and the pedestrian Bauman Street — matters more, base yourself in the center.

Families without a car will get more out of the center. Everything is at hand: restaurants, pharmacies, and grocery stores. That spares you from constantly calling a taxi.

The price per night depends on category and location:

  • from 1,500 ₽ — a double room in a 2-star on the city's northern outskirts;
  • from 3,000 ₽ — a 3-star in the center;
  • from 5,000 ₽ — a 4-star within walking distance of Bauman Street;
  • from 12,000 ₽ — premium options near the Kremlin.

During holidays and major events, rates can rise 30–60% over the base price.

Kazan's hotels, especially the larger and mid-sized ones, have a few distinct features:

  • many offer halal breakfast menus and include prayer rooms. It's part of Tatarstan's hospitality tradition;
  • reception staff usually speak Russian, English, and Tatar;
  • price lists often include special packages — for example, "room + tour to Sviyazhsk" or "room + match at the Ak Bars Arena". This is handy for weekend travellers and spares them from hunting for tickets separately.
  • First, register on the website or download our handy mobile app.

  • Right after payment, a confirmation email will arrive in your inbox.
