For city walks, use Pskov Kremlin and the Golden Embankment overlooking the Krom as your landmarks; Cheryokhin is 7 km from the centre, so factor in the journey. For time by the water, consider Pleskov on Lake Pskov, 23 km from the city, or Ustye on Lake Peipus.
If you want to cook, consider a detached cottage with a kitchenette at Ustye, which also has a playground; if you prefer a room, Pleskov has a restaurant, a playroom and a playground. Cheryokhin’s cabins have one double bed with no option for extra beds, so keep that in mind when choosing for a family.
Before booking, check how to reach the property from Pskov railway station and get back: being close to the city does not necessarily mean an easy journey. Cheryokhin is 7 km from the centre and Pleskov is 23 km from Pskov; also check whether meals are available on site or you need to bring groceries.
