About hotel

The tourist complex "piipun Piha" is located in the vicinity of Sortavala, on the northwestern coast of lake Ladoga. From city centre by car can be reached in just 5 minutes. The building, which houses the tourist complex, has a rich history. In 1875 Sortavala merchant Daniel Tiainen organized on the shore of lake Ladoga steam sawmill. This place was named Kiviniemi Saha (sawmill on stone Cape). The founder did not expect that after 116 years at the base of the building will be built cozy hotel called "Piipun Piha", which in Finnish means "courtyard with a pipe". At present from the industrial past of the building remains only the pipe, giving the hotel a unique charm.
