Hotels in Divnomorskoe

The swimming season here is long — the water is comfortable roughly from early June through the end of September, and sometimes into the first days of October. July and August bring the warmest sea, but the village is packed and rooms get pricier and sell out in advance. The best compromise is the velvet season in September: the sea is still warm, there are fewer people and prices are lower.

The central beach is pebbly, around 700 meters long, with a stony entry into the water and depth that builds quickly. That keeps the sea clean and clear, but water shoes will not go amiss. Anyone traveling with small children should look for a place with its own pool.

The range is set by format and distance to the water: guest houses and mini-hotels on the backstreets and the outskirts are the cheapest, while beachfront stays and hotels with a pool, sauna and restaurant cost more. The peak falls in July and August; in September and early June the same rooms work out noticeably cheaper.

The choice of classified hotels in the village is small: the core is guest houses, mini-hotels, apartments and holiday resorts with no formal star rating, plus a few three-star hotels and a couple of larger properties with a pool and spa. If you specifically need a big star-rated hotel with a full range of services, it makes more sense to look at neighboring Gelendzhik or Kabardinka — both are less than half an hour from Divnomorskoye.

The distance is about 12 kilometers along the Sukhumi highway. Minibus route No. 108 takes roughly 25–30 minutes to the Gelendzhik bus station, and a taxi is faster. Many travelers deliberately stay in Divnomorskoye for the quiet mornings and drive over in the evenings to walk the Gelendzhik seafront and ride the cable car.

The closest target is the hamlet of Dzhankhot about 5 kilometers to the south: a Pitsunda pine grove and the house-museum of the writer Vladimir Korolenko, and farther along the coast, by the village of Praskoveyevka, stands the famous Parus (Sail) Rock. In the other direction lies Gelendzhik with its seafront, cable car and safari park, and beyond it Kabardinka. Very close by, on the shore between Divnomorskoye and Dzhankhot, is the Blue Abyss, and the mouth of the Mezyb is an easy walk on foot.
