Best hotels in Gudauta for winter

Choosing where to stay in Gudauta, especially in the June–September season, comes down less to the dates and more to how close you want to be to the sea. Gudauta is small and falls into three loose zones: a compact center by the beach, Kistrik to the west closer to the open shore, and the belt of villages in the Gudauta District — Abgarkhuk, Aatsy, Primorskoye (Arsaul). Prices vary by a factor of several: a village guest house starts at 1,999 ₽, while rooms in the center start from 3,500 ₽.

In central Gudauta — a short walk to the beach and Heroes Avenue

Central Gudauta is where all the action is: the main promenade, Heroes Avenue, the seafront, the market and the cafés. Most hotels sit just 200–400 meters from the sea. Among the mid-range options, take a look at the Anastasia guest house (from 5,100 ₽) on Ampar Street and the Nacional hotel (from 6,000 ₽) on Heroes Avenue — it stands just 100 meters from the central stretch. In Kistrik — closer to the open beach

The Kistrik side lies west of the center, about 2.4–3 kilometers away. There's no evening bustle here, no nearby cafés or market, but the beach is closer. The most budget-friendly option in the area is the Serebryany Plyazh hotel (from 3,420 ₽) on Kistrikskaya Street. These are some of the most affordable rooms by the sea in town. In the villages of the Gudauta District — Abgarkhuk, Primorskoye, Aatsy

Accommodation at 1,999 ₽ in the Gudauta District is only found outside the town itself. For example, the Guest house in the village of Abgarkhuk sits about 12 kilometers from the center. In Primorskoye (the old name is Arsaul) you'll find the Mandarin hotel (from 3,500 ₽). In the village of Aatsy, 13 kilometers from the center, the Strana Dushi holiday base welcomes guests. Prices here start from 3,000 ₽. In these places a car is almost essential — it's hard to reach the sea or a shop on foot. Star ratings don't say much in Gudauta — the choice of hotels here is fairly narrow.

In the "4 stars" category there is only one option in town — the Zolotoy Yakor hotel on Trapsh Street. Rooms start from 10,395 ₽ per night. The hotel stands on the seafront, about 50 m from the water (1.1 km is the distance to the city center).

Next come the pricier three-star hotels and properties without an official rating. For example:

• the Volga hotel on Heroes Avenue in the center — from 11,400 ₽ per night;
• the Papa-Dom hotel in the west of town, in the Abazinskaya area — from 14,700 ₽. This is the most expensive property in the Gudauta catalog.

The town also has the Park Hotel Chernomorets and Grace Faors. Their rates stay within the 8,000–9,000 ₽ per night range.

There are no 5-star hotels in Gudauta — that's the character of the resort. You won't find glitz here, and prices are lower than in neighboring Gagra.

What Gudauta does have is its own niche — sanatoriums in the Abkhazian format. These are Soviet-era resort complexes with a medical program and their own beach. They differ from ordinary seaside hotels: their main purpose is the treatment program, not just lodging. Such sanatoriums are usually booked for stays of 10–14 days.
