The city's main pedestrian axis is Bauman Street. It runs 1.9 km from the Kremlin to Tukay Square. Right next door are the Kul-Sharif Mosque, the Spasskaya Tower, and the Kremlin Embankment.

What to choose in Novo-Savinovsky for views of the Ak Bars Arena and the Kazanka

If you're heading to a match at the Ak Bars Arena, a concert, or travelling with kids, this is a more practical base than the center. You can reach the Kremlin in 15 minutes by car or in one metro stop (Kozya Sloboda ↔ Kremlyovskaya). In the evening, though, if you have to head back across the bridge — especially in bad weather — the trip can take half an hour longer.

The clearest "view hotel" is Millennium Panorama at 1I Amirkhan Street. Rates start from 13,200 ₽. The windows look out over the Kazanka and the Chasha.

A small cozy hotel in the center of Kazan, set back from the noisy streets. There’s an Orthodox church nearby — the services are quiet and don’t disturb the hotel guests at all. Right behind the church there’s a pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel’s location is very convenient. Metro, buses and trolleybuses are easily accessible. Taxis can pull up right to the hotel entrance. The staff is very friendly. The rooms were cleaned regularly. The breakfasts are modest but very tasty. I placed my order from the menu the evening before, and in the morning everything was served hot at the agreed time. It was quite enough to keep me going until the afternoon. The room was cozy and had a double bed. I stayed for 5 nights and was satisfied.

A cozy hostel — our friends recommended it to us, and we didn’t regret choosing it for a single minute. It’s located relatively close to the centre, with all the necessary infrastructure within walking distance. There’s parking, but it’s paid.
