Hotels in downtown Kazan

The city's main pedestrian axis is Bauman Street. It runs 1.9 km from the Kremlin to Tukay Square. Right next door are the Kul-Sharif Mosque, the Spasskaya Tower, and the Kremlin Embankment.

If you book a hotel in the Vakhitovsky (central) district, you can reach most sights on foot in 5–15 minutes — no car or metro needed. The trade-off is higher rates on peak dates and putting up with the tourist bustle right outside your door.

If staying close to the Kremlin is your top priority, consider the following:

• Giuseppe at 15/25 Kremlyovskaya Street.

From these hotels you can walk to the Spasskaya Tower in 5–10 minutes. Rates start from 7,900 ₽ per night at Giuseppe and from 12,285 ₽ at CORT INN.

A bit further from the Kremlin walls, but next to KFU and the Kremlin Embankment, sits the Shalyapin Palace Hotel (7 Universitetskaya Street). Rates start from 11,800 ₽.

All three are 4-star and offer the standard set of services: a restaurant, parking, and the option of early check-in.

The Novo-Savinovsky district sits on the opposite bank of the Kazanka. There are no historic buildings here, but the modern skyline rises tall. The area has a long embankment, Victory Park, and a water park.

If you're heading to a match at the Ak Bars Arena, a concert, or travelling with kids, this is a more practical base than the center. You can reach the Kremlin in 15 minutes by car or in one metro stop (Kozya Sloboda ↔ Kremlyovskaya). In the evening, though, if you have to head back across the bridge — especially in bad weather — the trip can take half an hour longer.

The clearest "view hotel" is Millennium Panorama at 1I Amirkhan Street. Rates start from 13,200 ₽. The windows look out over the Kazanka and the Chasha.

Next door is Riviera at 1a Amirkhan Street. Rates from 17,612 ₽. The hotel has its own water park and "room + slides" packages.

New 4-star boutique hotels have opened in Kazan. Their rates start from 5,000 ₽ — comparable to a solid three-star, which is a rare find in major cities.

A standout example is the Volga House Boutique Hotel at 3D Gorky Street. It's a 4-star hotel a 10-minute walk from Bauman Street.

If you want something cheaper and right on the pedestrian street itself, take a look at iQHOTEL at 60 Bauman Street. It's a 2-star with rates starting from 4,000 ₽. There's no restaurant, but the rooms have balconies looking out over the main street.

Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda by Lake Kaban is a strong alternative to Bauman Street for anyone who wants to get a feel for Tatar culture. The quarter has preserved its wooden architecture and is home to the Tugan Avylym restaurant complex and the Kamal Theatre.

An atmospheric option is Kunak at 26 Kayum Nasyri Street. It's a 3-star with rates from 5,693 ₽. From here it's a convenient 20-minute walk to the Kremlin along the lake. Bauman Street is just 15 minutes away on foot.
