Book a hotel in Sergiev Posad

The most popular streets are Pionerskaya, Ovrazhny Lane, and Voznesenskaya. From them, the entrance to the monastery is 100 to 700 meters away. These streets have guest houses, 2–3 star hotels, and small boutique hotels. From Blinnaya Hill (19 Voznesenskaya St.) you get the classic view of the Lavra's domes. The Na Blinnoy Gore hotel at 29 Voznesenskaya sits nearby on the same hill.

If you're willing to spend 15–20 minutes walking for a quieter setting, look at the northern part of the city — Inzhenernaya and Vladimirskaya streets.

It's better to book outside the city. About 6–7 kilometers from Sergiev Posad, in the village of Bereznyaki on the shore of Torbeevo Lake, there's a park hotel with a beach and family-oriented infrastructure.

Sixteen kilometers from the city, in Peresvet, sits the Russkie Sezony resort complex. It has a pool, spa center, and coniferous park.

Fifteen kilometers away, in Abramtsevo, is Villa Alpina — a hotel next to the museum-estate.

All three places have parking, rooms for 3–4 guests, and scenic nature nearby.

The city itself has almost no 4-star hotels, and no 5-star hotels at all.

4-star options can be found outside the city: park hotels on Torbeevo Lake, the Russkie Sezony resort complex in Peresvet, and Villa Alpina in Abramtsevo.

Within the city, the premium role is filled by small boutique hotels — for example, Kelarskaya Naberezhnaya by Kelarsky Pond and Four Lions House on Kooperativnaya Street.

Sergiev Posad is about 71 kilometers from Moscow along the Yaroslavl Highway. The commuter train from Yaroslavsky Station takes from 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; the express is faster. Driving without traffic takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

Because of its proximity to the capital, many tourists come to Sergiev Posad for the day. But if you stay overnight, you can enjoy a calm morning at the Lavra — arriving before the monastery gates open and the tour buses roll in.
