It's about 55–58 km along the M-4 "Don" highway — roughly an hour by taxi or transfer without traffic. In July and August, add 30–40 minutes for the approaches to Gelendzhik. Scheduled buses run via Kabardinka and Divnomorskoye.

The swimming season runs from early May to late September: the water warms to +20…+26 °C, and summer air temperatures hold at +24…+30 °C. July and August are the peak, and in a small village you notice it — there are almost no rooms left and lines build up at the water park. September is the velvet season: the sea is still warm, there are fewer people and accommodation gets cheaper.

Only a handful of properties have gone through official classification, and there is almost nothing above three stars in the village. Everything else is guest houses and mini-hotels with no formal category: instead of restaurant service you get a homey atmosphere and the owners' personal hospitality.

Most of what's on offer is the budget and mid-range guest house segment, and a night on the upper streets costs less than in the center or on the beachfront. A few properties with a pool and full service stand apart: they run several times the village average. May and September are the cheapest months, July and August the most expensive — check the cards for current prices.

These are neighboring resort villages: Dzhubga is about 23 km along the highway toward Krasnodar, Lermontovo 27 km to the south, and both often appear in general listings for the coast around Gelendzhik. They are easy enough to reach by car, but you cannot walk from there to the beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka. Before booking, check the address on the card against a map.

The beach is pebble and sand with a gentle entry into the water, which makes it easy to wade in with children. It's busiest by the central promenade, while at the mouth of the Vulan the water is slightly cooler but cleaner. West of the estuary the shore turns rocky — swimming there is calmer, but there is almost no infrastructure.
