This Crimean city sits at the western end of Feodosia Bay, on the slopes of Mount Tepe-Oba. People come here for quiet seaside holidays, sandy beaches, and a more measured pace than at the peninsula's busier resorts. The city also draws visitors with its history and its ties to Aivazovsky and Grin.

Moya Bron offers accommodation not only in Feodosia but throughout Crimea. Just find a suitable option, read the reviews, and book your hotel.

Feodosia, Beregovoye, Koktebel or Kurortnoye: where to stay

On a single page we've gathered information about an entire coastal cluster: Feodosia itself with the Aivazovsky Gallery, the long sandy strip in Beregovoye (north of the center), Koktebel and Kurortnoye near the Karadag Nature Reserve. The main question here isn't which specific hotel to pick, but which of these settlements to base yourself in. Each one offers its own kind of holiday and a different price level.

WhereWhat's hereWho it suitsFrom
Central FeodosiaDesantnikov Embankment, Aivazovsky Avenue, the Aivazovsky Gallery, the Genoese Fortress of Kaffa, the "Kameshki" pebble beachTravelers who come for the city itself and its museums, not just the beachfrom 2,850 ₽
Beregovoye and Kamyshovaya BalkaA sandy beach strip 5–7 km north of the center, with the sea right at the doorstepFamilies with children and anyone who wants the beach close byfrom 2,500 ₽
KoktebelThe Karadag Nature Reserve, Tikhaya Bay, the Voloshin House Museum, the Koktebel wineryTravelers who want nature, local wines, and the creative atmospherefrom 2,500 ₽
KurortnoyeA quiet village at the foot of Karadag, sanatoriums; a few kilometers south — Lisya BayThose looking for peace, wellness treatments, or a relaxed pacefrom 3,300 ₽

Minibuses run regularly between Feodosia, Koktebel, and Kurortnoye, so you can stay in one place and take day trips to another.

Hotels near Desantnikov Embankment and the Genoese Fortress

Central Feodosia stretches from the railway station and port along the sea to Desantnikov Embankment. Here you'll find the Gallery, the Aivazovsky Fountain, the Genoese Fortress of Kaffa, and the "Kameshki" pebble beach. There are no sandy beaches in the center itself — for those you need to head out to Beregovoye. On the other hand, every landmark is within walking distance, and you won't need a taxi in the evenings.

  • Hotel Feodosia — a 3-star city hotel on Pushkin Street, 1 km from the Aivazovsky Gallery. From 4,500 ₽ per night.
  • Na Ukrainskoy Guest House — an affordable option 400 m from the center. From 2,850 ₽.

If you want to keep costs down while staying within walking distance of the sea and museums, take a look at the Cheap in the center collection.

Beregovoye and Kamyshovaya Balka: sandy beaches 5–7 km from the center

Beregovoye is for travelers who care more about the beach than about strolls around the old town. From here you can reach Desantnikov Embankment in 15–20 minutes by minibus.

The hotel cluster runs along the Feodosia–Beregovoye road and covers Kamyshovaya and Peschanaya streets and Kerchenskoye Highway. There's a long sandy strip here, with clean shallow water and a gentle entry into the sea. That's exactly why families come. Shops and other infrastructure are scattered, and for most day-to-day errands you'll need to head into the city.

  • Volna — the cheapest option in the cluster, with rates starting at 2,550 ₽ per night.
  • Mini-Hotel Astra sits on Kerchenskoye Highway, a few minutes from the beach. From 4,960 ₽.
  • Kristall — a large property within the cluster. Rates start at 13,000 ₽. This one suits travelers who want above-average service.

At the foot of Karadag: Koktebel and Kurortnoye

Koktebel is a separate resort village 20 km south of Feodosia. Here you can visit the Maximilian Voloshin House Museum, take in the view of Tikhaya Bay, stop by the Koktebel winery, and join a tour of Karadag. Accommodation lines Lenin Street — the village's main artery, with cafés, a market, and a promenade.

Kurortnoye is a small village at the foot of Karadag, on the edge of the reserve. A few kilometers to the south is Lisya Bay. It's quieter here than in Koktebel, which is why families with children and people coming for medical treatment often pick it. There aren't many hotels in the village itself, and about half of them are sanatoriums and boarding houses with medical programs.

  • Feliz Verano — a 2-star hotel on Lenin Street in Koktebel, with rates starting at 2,500 ₽.
  • Usadba Zolotye Vorota — a guest complex in Koktebel set away from the bustle of Lenin Street; rates start at 3,900 ₽.
  • Grand Kurort Park Hotel — a large 3-star hotel in Kurortnoye on Morskaya Street. Formerly called "Krymskoye Primorye"; from 14,000 ₽.

The full Sanatoriums collection is for those coming for treatment programs and medical care.

I’m very pleased with the conditions provided for отдыха. The family holiday here went wonderfully thanks to the quiet and pleasant atmosphere, plenty of amenities and the overall feeling of coziness. I’m also glad that the prices are reasonable and I was able to book a room quickly and without any problems. This place deserves the highest rating for comfort, great location, good prices and other nice little things.

The room is clean and neat. The bed linen is really white. The beds, pillows and blankets are very comfortable for sleeping. The bathroom is clean. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided in the room, from mosquito repellent patches to a corkscrew, and there’s also a very nice balcony with a view of a cozy inner courtyard. A grocery store, a bistro and, of course, the Aivazovsky Gallery are all within walking distance. We stayed for two nights in autumn. It’s a quiet, cozy place.

For 1,000 rubles we got a lot of positive emotions. The room is comfortable, it even has personal hygiene products. The bed linen and towels are clean. Meals are served in the restaurant, prices are affordable and the food is tasty. The beach is a 10‑minute walk away. The staff is polite.

Frequently Asked Questions

The cheapest options — guest houses and unrated mini-hotels — start at 2,500 ₽ per night. For example, you can stay at the Margarita guest house in Beregovoye or at Feliz Verano in Koktebel.

A 3-star hotel runs from 3,000 ₽ — Cristal in Koktebel, for instance. A 4-star hotel will run roughly from 10,879 ₽ per night.

In peak season — July and August — prices are noticeably higher than in May or September.

The sandy beaches in Feodosia itself are north of the center, around Kamyshovaya Balka and the village of Beregovoye, 5–7 km from the old town. A long beach strip with a gentle entry into the sea runs along here. The Beregovoye hotels are lined up along it.

In the city center there's the "Kameshki" pebble beach, plus small sections of Desantnikov Embankment.

The most convenient base is Koktebel or Kurortnoye — both villages sit right next to the Karadag Nature Reserve.

From Koktebel there are boat trips to the Golden Gate and group walking tours. From Kurortnoye you can reach the reserve even faster, and there are usually fewer tourists.

The swimming season in Feodosia runs from late May through September. The biggest crowds and highest prices are in July and August.

The most comfortable balance of weather and price is the "velvet season" in September. By then the water is still warm, and the beaches are less crowded.
