Hotels in Loo

Loo is a neighbourhood in the Lazarevskoye district of Sochi: the same coast and the same climate, but instead of a promenade lined with high-rises you get a village with a market, private yards and pebble beaches, and accommodation is noticeably cheaper than in the city. The fastest way to central Sochi is the commuter train from Loo station — the trip takes about half an hour. Buses and minibuses run along the A-147 federal highway and take a little longer.

Not in the village itself. The top of the range is three-star hotels, the health resort complex with its water park, and private villas with pools that carry no official rating. If the service of a large resort hotel with a spa and its own facilities is essential to you, it's better to book in central Sochi or Adler.

The beach season runs from June to September and peaks in August — the water is at its warmest then and accommodation gets more expensive across the whole village. May and September are the happy medium: fewer tourists, lower prices, and the sea already, or still, warm enough for swimming. In the off-season some guest houses close, but the water park on the hillside is open year-round.

The shore is pebble and sand and stretches for several kilometres along the whole village. Most of the beaches are municipal and free; you pay only for sun loungers and umbrellas. The Blue Flag has been awarded to the beach of the health resort complex and to the municipal beaches Loo-1 and Loo-2, and part of the resort beach is open to its own guests only.

The range is wide: the most affordable option is a room in a guest house on the edge of the village or well back from the sea, while villas with pools, apart-hotels and rooms in the health resort complex cost the most. In summer, and especially in August, prices rise across the whole village, while in May and September they drop noticeably. Current rates are always shown in the hotel cards on this page.
