Hostels in Moscow
Moscow’s hostels offer capsules, dorm beds and private rooms. Look closely at the location and facilities: not every private room has its own bathroom.
What to consider when choosing
For walks around the centre, consider Polyanka na Chistykh Prudakh: Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre are about a 20-minute walk away. Pedestrian Arbat Street is another useful landmark: its starting point at Arbatskaya Square is about a 10-minute walk from the Kremlin.
Choose a dorm if you just need a bed; a capsule offers a more enclosed sleeping space but may still be in a shared room, as at Hostel House Pokrovsky. For more privacy, book a private room and check the bathroom arrangements: Travel inn Timiryazevskaya has shared facilities, while Drop Inn offers a double room with its own bathroom.
Hostel House Pokrovsky has individual lockers, while CAPS Hotel has storage spaces; check ahead whether your suitcase will fit and whether the storage locks. If you arrive before check-in or leave after check-out, also ask whether you can leave your luggage.
