Book a hotel in Yaroslavl
Yaroslavl sits in a bend where the Volga meets the Kotorosl. From the 1000th Anniversary Park you get a view of the famous Strelka — the main reason travelers come here for 2–3 nights.
Within walking distance you'll find the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, the Church of Elijah the Prophet, and the Volga and Kotorosl embankments.
Book a hotel in Yaroslavl through Moya Bron. We offer 176 places to stay: from budget guesthouses on the southern edges of town to merchant-era boutique hotels on the Volga embankment. Prices start at 2,500 ₽ per night, and real guest reviews will help you make the right choice.
Where to stay in Yaroslavl: closer to the Strelka or farther away?
The first thing most guests think about when picking a place to stay is the distance to the historic center. Most of the good hotels sit within 1.5 km of the Strelka and the embankments. Across the Kotorosl and in the southern districts prices are roughly half as high, but you'll spend more time and more on taxis getting around.
| District | What to know | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Center (Strelka, embankments) | Walking distance to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, the Church of Elijah the Prophet, and the 1000th Anniversary Park | from 3,490 ₽ |
| Across the Kotorosl and Moskovsky Avenue | On the left bank of the Kotorosl, close to the M8 highway exit. Especially convenient for road trippers | from 4,500 ₽ |
| Frunzensky and Dzerzhinsky districts | Residential districts 4–8 km from the center, so you'll need transport to get around | from 2,500 ₽ |
| Village of Vyatskoye (≈ 30 km) | A private museum-village. A good fit for a weekend country SPA escape | from 6,000 ₽ |
The center in the bend of the Volga and the Kotorosl
The UNESCO-listed historic core sits between the two rivers: this is where you'll find the Volga and Kotorosl embankments along with Pervomayskaya, Sverdlova, and Pushkina streets. The main sights are a 10–15-minute walk away.
- Parus — from 3,490 ₽ a night, Volzhskaya Embankment, 4.
- Paradnaya — from 3,500 ₽, near Chelyuskintsev Square, about 500 m from the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.
If you want to save money but don't want to move out to the outskirts, take a look at the budget options in the center. The list includes 2- and 3-star hotels within walking distance of the Strelka.
Across the Kotorosl and Moskovsky Avenue
The district on the left bank of the Kotorosl is quieter than the center. It's a good fit for travelers arriving by car. From here you can reach the Strelka in 15–20 minutes on foot across the bridge, or in one or two bus stops.
- AZIMUT Hotel Yaroslavl — from 6,500 ₽, Moskovsky Avenue, 10/15. A large 4-star chain hotel with parking and a restaurant.
Southern districts: Frunzensky and Dzerzhinsky
The residential districts spread out south of the center. Prices here are the lowest in the city, but you'll need 15–30 minutes by taxi to reach the Strelka.
- ARGO — from 3,000 ₽ a night, Newton Street, 34B. The cheapest 3-star hotel in Yaroslavl.
The most budget-friendly hotel in the city is the 2-star Skazka. It stands 7.7 km from the Strelka and costs 2,500 ₽. This option fits travelers on a tight budget or those who prefer to get around in their own car.
Merchant boutique hotels in 19th-century mansions
Among the other Golden Ring towns, Yaroslavl stands out for the kind of immersive historic stay it offers. There are small hotels housed in old merchant and tenement mansions. Each one comes with themed interiors, an intimate atmosphere, and a location right in the historic center.
- Kuptsov Dom — from 7,750 ₽, Trefoleva Street, 21. A boutique hotel in a restored merchant's mansion. It's a 10-minute walk from the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.
- Bogoyavlensky Boutique Hotel — from 5,500 ₽, Kotoroslnaya Embankment, 24. Some rooms have views of the river and the church domes.
- Muzyka i Vremya — from 7,299 ₽, Volzhskaya Embankment, 33B. A themed hotel attached to the private-collections museum of the same name.
Yaroslavl as a base for day trips around the Golden Ring
Within 80–150 km of Yaroslavl you'll find a string of worthwhile towns: Rostov Veliky, Uglich, Tutaev, Kostroma, and Pereslavl-Zalessky.
The Lastochka train from Moscow's Yaroslavsky Station to Yaroslavl-Glavny takes about 3 hours. From there you can reach the neighboring towns by suburban train, tour bus, or your own car.
A convenient setup is to stay in a single hotel in Yaroslavl and run day trips out to the surrounding towns.
In that case it's better to pick a hotel near the railway station or by the Znamenskaya Tower: from there it's an easy ride to the bus station and onto the M8 highway.
- Ibis Yaroslavl Center — from 7,590 ₽, Pervomaysky Lane, 2A. This Accor chain hotel sits right by the Znamenskaya Tower. It's a good fit for a business trip or the first night before a longer route.
If you're planning to spend more than three nights in the region or are traveling with kids, renting an apartment is often the better deal. Apartments in the center start at 4,000 ₽ a night and come with a kitchen, so you can cook breakfast and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Any hotel within 1.5 km of the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl will do — from the Volga and Kotorosl embankments to Pervomayskaya, Sverdlova, and Pushkina streets. In that radius you'll find about a dozen options: hotels rated from 2 to 4 stars. Prices start at 3,490 ₽ a night.
Demand peaks in June through August — the Volga cruise season. Prices also climb over the New Year holidays and on City Day, celebrated on the last Saturday of May. For those dates the embankment hotels sell out 2–3 months in advance.
The quieter, cheaper months are March, April, October, and November.
Two nights are enough to see Yaroslavl itself. In that time you can:
- spend the first day on the center and the Strelka;
- spend the second day on the area across the Kotorosl and the Tolga Monastery.
If you also want to visit Rostov, Uglich, and Kostroma, plan for 3–4 nights. Stay in a hotel in Yaroslavl and set aside one day for each of the neighboring towns.
If you're staying for 1–2 nights as a couple, a hotel is both more convenient and cheaper. You get breakfast, housekeeping, and a working reception.
If the trip will run 3 nights or more, or you're traveling with kids or a larger group, renting an apartment works out better. You'll have a kitchen and a washing machine, and the nightly rate drops on longer stays. You can find apartments right in the center as well as near the railway station.
