The most affordable end is a hostel bed or a simple guest house with no services. The bulk of what's available is apartments and flats by the night in the centre and in Golutvin, noticeably pricier. The upper end by local standards means apartments in the merchant houses of Old Kolomna, the city's only four-star hotel, and country houses with a banya. No, the city has no five-star hotels. The highest category available is a single four-star hotel in Kolychevo, with a restaurant, a pool and a spa. It's about five to six kilometres between the station and Old Kolomna. The easiest way is the tram: the route from the station square runs straight to the old town and takes roughly a quarter of an hour. A taxi gets there slightly faster when the roads are clear, though a tram ride in Kolomna is an attraction in its own right.
