It's about 110 km from the airport in Adler to Lazarevskoye. The most convenient option is the Lastochka train: around an hour and a half and you're at Lazarevskaya station in the center of town. By car the mountain road takes anywhere from an hour and a half to well over two hours and depends heavily on traffic, which is why most guests choose the train.

The best choice is the central zone around Kommunisticheskaya and Pobedy streets: the Morskaya Zvezda dolphinarium, the Nautilus water park, the crocodile farm and the town park are all within walking distance. If you're driving and traveling with small children, take a look at the roomier complexes along the Sochi highway — it's calmer and greener there, but you'll need transport to get to the beach.
