The Promenade and the Ferris Wheel: The Village’s Main Axis

The resort’s main pedestrian axis — Yantarnaya Street — stretches for about a kilometer. It is lined with a white balustrade, paving stones, exits to the central beaches, and plenty of cafés serving shashlik, khachapuri, and grilled fish. In the evening, crowds gather here, and in summer, open-air concerts are held on the outdoor stages.

Next to it is Lazarevsky Park of Culture and Leisure, named after the 30th Anniversary of the Victory, which opened in 1975. Its 5.1 hectares are laid out with alleys of exotic plants, and it houses amusement rides, a crocodile farm, and a Ferris wheel 83.5 m tall. Until 2022, it was the tallest in Russia, and now it’s the tallest in the south of the country. From the top of the Ferris wheel, you can see the sea, the mountains, and the entire village.

The park also has the Morskaya Zvezda dolphinarium and an aquarium with garra rufa fish. Two more dolphinariums, the Tropicheskaya Amazonka oceanarium, and a water park are located a few blocks from the railway station.

Seasons and Day Trips from Lazarevskoye

The swimming summer begins in the second half of June and lasts until the end of September. Daytime temperatures reach +27 °C in July and +29 °C in August. During the velvet season in September, the weather stays roughly the same as in early summer — around +24 °C — but the beaches are far less crowded.

Winter here is mild, with temperatures staying around +7 °C. Swimming is out of the question at that time, of course, but you can walk along the promenade and take trips into the mountains. The indoor Akvaloo water park and the oceanarium are open year-round.

Within a 30–60 minute drive from Lazarevskoye, there are plenty of nature routes. Here are some of them:

• the 33 Waterfalls on the Dzhegosh Stream;
• the Svirskoye Gorge: it has a trail about 3 km long. It passes the Adam and Eve and Mother-in-Law’s Tears waterfalls;
• the Mamedovo Gorge: a 7-km route along the Kuapse River;
• Berendeyevo Tsarstvo Park: it has a 2.5-km eco-trail. It leads through Colchian forest to a dolmen and menhirs.
