Khosta lies between the sea and the Caucasus foothills, and that is its defining feature: quiet streets, pebble beaches and the entrance to the Yew and Boxwood Grove a few minutes from the village. There are almost no chain hotels here, so people usually stay in apartments and small private houses. Keep in mind that the residential blocks are separated from the shore by the Tuapse — Adler railway, so you reach the water through an underpass. A good option for anyone coming for an unhurried break and nature rather than evening resort bustle.

If nothing in the village itself suits you, it makes sense to look a little farther south — along Prosveshcheniya and Medovaya streets, near the Kudepsta and Golubye Dali platforms. From here the local train reaches Khosta's beaches and the nature reserve in a matter of minutes, and the choice of guest houses and apart-hotels is far wider than in Khosta proper. Many properties stand close to the sea and have their own pool and sauna — convenient if you've come for a long stay with the whole family.

Matsesta is the oldest balneological resort in the Khosta district: people have been coming here for hydrogen sulfide baths since the beginning of the last century. A belt of sanatoriums and health resorts runs along Kurortny Prospekt, where medical centers sit next to modern spa hotels, and you can book treatments either with a doctor's referral or without one. Choose this side of the coast if your idea of a holiday is routine, water and recovery rather than beach entertainment.

Central Sochi is about twenty minutes from Khosta by car and even less on the Lastochka express, so many people base themselves there and travel out to the quiet coves to swim. This is where you'll find the promenade, Riviera Park, fish restaurants and the Winter Theatre program — everything Khosta deliberately does without. It suits anyone who wants the sea during the day and a city rhythm in the evening.

Adler is Khosta's most densely developed neighbor: a promenade, markets, cafes and direct access to the water from the beachfront hotels. The local train takes about a quarter of an hour to Khosta, so a morning trip to the Yew and Boxwood Grove is easy to arrange. The first line is valued here for one simple thing — the sea is a couple of minutes' walk away, with no railway crossings and no climbs uphill.

For families with small children the Imeretinskaya Lowland is often more practical than Khosta itself: the beaches here are sand and pebble with a gentle slope, and the Olympic Park, the water park and Sirius Park are all close by. The neighborhoods were built as a resort from the outset — wide promenades, greenery and plenty of room to push a stroller. For quiet and the relict forest, people take the local train to Khosta, a journey of under half an hour.

The budget end of this coast is above all Adler's private sector: small guest houses with a kitchen, their own yard and owners living next door. They usually stand a few streets back from the shore, a short walk from the beach, but they let you cook for yourself and travel as a group. There are hostels too — a sensible choice if you're stopping over for a night or spending the whole day out walking and in the mountains.

If you land in Sochi late, it makes sense to spend the first night near the airport or Adler train station and move on to Khosta in the morning without rushing. The same Lastochka trains leave from the station and reach the village in about a quarter of an hour, so the transfer won't eat up a day of your holiday. The formats vary — from apartments and small hotels in residential blocks to a place right inside the station building.
