Choose a hotel in Adler — near Bestuzhev Embankment, in Imeretinka, all-inclusive, beachfront on the first line, near the train station and airport, or closer to Krasnaya Polyana in winter.
The Imeretinsky resort area. The beach here is wide and gently sloping, the promenade is long and well kept, and Sochi Park with its rides and Olympic Park are close by. Most hotels near Olympic Park run on an all-inclusive basis, so meals stop being a question for the whole trip.
The swimming season usually runs from late May to October, with the warmest water in July and August. September, the velvet season, is better suited to walking and sightseeing. In winter Adler is a convenient base for trips to Krasnaya Polyana: the coast stays around +5…+10 °C, while there is snow in the mountains an hour away on the Lastochka train.
If you want to save money and come back to the sea on your days off, stay in Adler: the Lastochka train covers the distance from the station to Rosa Khutor in 45–60 minutes. If skiing straight from the door to the lift matters more, choose Krasnaya Polyana — but accommodation there is noticeably more expensive.
Yes. Sochi Airport is in the Adler district, so most hotels in central Adler and in Imeretinka are an easy 10–20 minutes away. The most convenient choice is a place near Adler railway station — on Lenina, Kirova or Energetikov streets: the sea is within walking distance and the terminal is close by.

The cheapest tier is hostels and rooms in guest houses, then privately run mini-hotels and apartments with a kitchen, then three- and four-star city hotels, and at the top all-inclusive resort complexes and five-star hotels in Imeretinka.
