Сириус
Sirius is more than just the legacy of the 2014 Sochi Games. Today it is a unique federal territory where comfort meets excitement. Perfectly level embankments, legendary Olympic arenas and the fairy-tale Sochi Park with its famous castle-hotel "Bogatyr" all await you here. The main advantage of the location is the freedom of choice: in the morning you sunbathe on the beach, and just 45 minutes later on the "Lastochka" train you find yourself in the snowy mountains of Krasnaya Polyana.
Imeretinskaya Embankment and the Olympic Arenas
The embankment stretches along the sea for nearly 8 kilometres — from the Olympic Park to the village of Veseloye near the Abkhazian border. Wide, level paths with no steps make it a pleasure to walk with a stroller, ride a scooter or simply watch the sunset. Along the way you will find cosy cafés serving Adjarian khachapuri, shops with local wine and pebble beaches with a gentle entry into the water.
The heart of the district is the Olympic Park. You can stroll around it in a couple of hours. You will see the Fisht Stadium with its 45,000 seats, where the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches were held, and the Iceberg Skating Palace, remembered for Adelina Sotnikova’s victory. In the evenings, at the centre of the park by the Olympic Flame bowl, the famous singing fountains come to life.
Right nearby is Sochi Park with its roller coasters and dolphinarium. And between the sports venues runs the Sochi Autodrom track, nearly 6 kilometres long.
The choice of accommodation in Sirius is impressive: catalogues list over 200 options. You can stay at “Barkhatnye Sezony” right by the beach (from 4,400 ₽) or opt for a premium stay at the “Arfa Park Hotel” (from 23,000 ₽).

Sirius: The Balance Between Sea and Mountains
Sirius is a two-in-one holiday base. In the morning you sunbathe on the beach, and just 40 minutes later you find yourself in the mountains. The “Lastochka” train from the “Imeretinsky Kurort” station takes you to Rosa Khutor in only 35–40 minutes. No transfers or changing hotels: you can easily head into the mountains for a walk and be back in time for dinner.
The swimming season in Sirius lasts a long time. In July and August the air warms up to +27…+28 °C. September is ideal: the water is still warm, the air a comfortable +24 °C, and the embankment becomes noticeably quieter. Winters here are mild. While Sirius sees around +10 °C and no snow, just 40 minutes away the ski season is in full swing.
The southern end of the embankment borders Abkhazia. From the “Psou” border crossing it is a short trip to Lake Ritsa and Gagra — a great option for a day trip.
