Book a hotel in Sochi

Sochi stretches along the Black Sea for 145 km and effectively rolls several distinct resorts into one city. Driving from a hotel by the Sea Port to one in Krasnaya Polyana can take up to an hour and a half. The season, budget, and style of holiday by the sea and in the mountains also differ. That's why, when booking a place to stay, you should pick the district first, before the hotel's star rating.

Central Sochi and Kurortny Avenue

This is the historic core of the city. Here you'll find the Sea Port, the Primorskaya Embankment, and Riviera Park, with a line of sanatoriums and five-star hotels stretching along Kurortny Avenue. People come here to walk around town, eat at the restaurants, and take sanatorium-and-spa treatments.

Adler, Sirius, and the Imeretinsky Lowland

Adler is the main beach resort of Greater Sochi. Nearby you'll find the international airport, a densely built-up seafront, and the largest concentration of four-star hotels by the sea.

South of Adler lies Sirius — the Imeretinsky Lowland. Here you'll find the Olympic Park, Sochi Park, a long flat seafront, and a modern cluster of hotels.

Krasnaya Polyana and Esto-Sadok

The mountain cluster sits 45–55 km from the coast. In winter, three ski resorts run here: Krasnaya Polyana, Rosa Khutor, and Gazprom. In summer, guests ride the cable cars, head out hiking, and take in the panoramas of the Caucasus Range.

In neighboring Esto-Sadok prices are even lower, but the walk from the hotels to the lifts is longer.

Dagomys and Lazarevskoye

These two resorts lie to the northwest of the Sochi agglomeration.

Dagomys draws visitors with its tea plantations, quiet beaches, and the legacy of large Soviet-era complexes. For example, Lavicon Hotel Dagomys on Batumskoye Highway offers rooms from 10,355 ₽.

Lazarevskoye sits even farther from the center. The drive takes more than an hour, but it pays you back with low prices and the longest stretch of beach in Greater Sochi.

Sochi has two tourist peaks: summer by the sea and winter in the mountains.

In summer, accommodation prices on the coast climb. That applies to Adler, Sirius, and the city center. If you're planning a trip for the New Year holidays or the February long weekend, book your stay in Krasnaya Polyana well ahead.

The best-value windows for a coastal holiday are March–April and November. The beach season either hasn't started yet or is already over, so prices are at their lowest. In the mountains during those months, some hotels discount rooms left over from the previous season.

May and October are traditionally good for a sanatorium stay: the summer heat is gone. The air warms to a comfortable level, prices sit below summer rates, and the queues for treatments shorten.
